What personal information Mzansi Casino™ collects, why, who can see it, and the rights you have over it under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Who is responsible

Mzansi Casino™ is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@inqola.co.za, on +27 64 950 2216, or at 7 Farm Kwaggafontein, Middelburg, 1050.

Our Information Officer can be contacted at the same address.

2. What we collect

InformationWhy we need it
Name, surname and an optional nicknameTo identify you, and to show teammates and officials who you are
Email addressTo sign you in, verify your account and send messages about your team and tournaments
Phone numberTo contact you about a tournament
South African ID number and date of birthTo confirm you are 18 or older and that each person holds only one account
The section, town and province you live inTo place you in the right town and province for the competition
Your team, entries, results and check-in recordTo run the competition and its rankings
Payment confirmationsTo confirm your team has paid. We do not receive or store card details
The time and internet address when you accept that entry fees are not refundableAs a record that you agreed before paying

Venue owners and managers who apply to host also give us their venue’s details, contact information and the results of its inspection. Officials give us the same identity information as players.

3. How your ID number is protected

  • Your ID number is encrypted before it is stored. It is never displayed anywhere on the site, to you or anyone else.
  • A separate one-way code, made from your ID number, lets us check that nobody registers twice without revealing the number itself.
  • At check-in, an official looks at your original ID document. The system records only that it was seen, not any copy of it.
  • Venue staff see only that a player’s identity has been verified.

4. Who can see your information

Your personal information is stored and processed in South Africa. Encrypted backups are also kept in South Africa.

6. Emails we send

Only messages about your account and the competition: verifying your email, setting or resetting a password, invitations to join a team, requests from your captain, replies to your own requests, and news about places at a venue. We do not send marketing email.

7. How long we keep it

Results and rankings form the record of each season and are kept as part of it. Our retention periods for account and identity information are being finalised and will be set out here before registration opens.

8. Your rights

  • To ask what personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy.
  • To correct it. Your name, nickname, phone number and section can be changed on your profile. To correct your email address, ID number or date of birth, contact us: these are how we verify you, so they are changed only after checking.
  • To ask us to delete it, subject to what we must keep by law or to preserve the competition record.
  • To object to how we use it.
  • To complain to the Information Regulator if you believe we have mishandled it.

To exercise any of these, email info@inqola.co.za.

9. Age

The Championship Series is for people aged 18 and older. Registration checks age from the ID number, so we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be published here with its date. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email.
